Know Theatre creates alternative theatre that is uniquely relevant. Our mission is to engage a diverse audience making theatre more accessible for all. It is dedicated to presenting affordable and thought-provoking entertainment in a variety of locations throughout the Tri-State area and providing provocative artistic opportunities for multicultural and contemporary programming.

Current Ticket Discount:

Know Theatre is proud to present free tickets for all active Armed Forces, Guard/Reserves and their immediate families for the upcoming Preview Events. There will be 6 pairs of free tickets available for each preview performance. Please check out the AFTA-Cincinnati Events page for more details.

Also, we at Know Theatre are extremely excited to invite you to participate in our Welcome Experiment. We have added one performance per week to our Mainstage season that is absolutely free to anyone who would like to join us. The Welcome Experiment is held on Wednesday evenings and you can find more specific dates in the Miscellaneous Information section.

Finally, we are offering $15 Tickets for all active Armed Forces, Guard/Reserves and their immediate families. Must present picture military ID to redeem tickets for all Mainstage performances. Fringe: Encores and Extras

In addition, Know Theatre will expand the programming associated with the highly popular annual Cincinnati Fringe Festival to include Encores from favorite Fringe productions, and Extras from like-minded artists whose work fits within the Fringe aesthetic. These special events will take place throughout the year, making it possible for Cincinnati to enjoy the spirit of the Fringe Festival beyond the months of May and June.

Know Theatre is excited to be producing a second stage of Underground programming on our bar’s cabaret stage and other locations around the city. Additional Underground programming will be announced throughout the season.

The Welcome Experiment

Know Theatre has added Wednesday night performances to our MainStage schedule with a special twist: these Wednesday performances will be offered FREE of charge to anyone who wants to see a show.

Inspired by Mixed Blood Theatre Company of Minneapolis and their Radical Hospitality initiative, Know Theatre’s Welcome Experiment will benefit anyone for whom the price of a regular admission ticket is too high a barrier.

Know Theatre hopes that by offering opportunities to see productions free-of-charge, a wider audience will be able to take part—be they neighbors facing economic hardship, fellow artists, students struggling to make ends meet, or even people who simply don’t regularly attend live theatre and might be more willing to take a chance on a show if it is offered for free.

We have grown from an itinerant band, performing wherever we could find available space, into a strong company, once housed at Gabriel's Corner to the largest non-equity theatre in the area; with a permanent home at 1120 Jackson in the vibrant Over-the-Rhine community.
